TRY THIS FOR LUNCH
RHUBARB AND APPLE PUDDING. Soak 3 cups stale breadcrumbs in just enough milk to cover, and when quite soft squeeze dry. Add 2oz finelygrated suet, -2oz sugar, and 1 beaten egg. Line a greased ovenproof dish with this mixture, reserving enough for the top. Stew 1 bunch rhubarb in as little water as possible, add 2 cups grated apple and fill dish. Cover with a layer of bread mixture and bake in a moderate oven for 1 hour. Serve with cream or boiled custard.
