PERSONAL ITEMS

Mrs S. Clapham, of Hinemoa, is visiting Wellington. Mrs R. O. Rendell, Waikohi, stayed recently at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton.

The Misses Brown, Church Street, Masterton, are visiting Mrs Fleury, the Vicarage, Kimbolton. Mr and Mrs A. W. J. Moran, Day’s Bay, were guests at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton, recently. Mrs Davidson, of Hataitai, who has been on a visit to Mrs A. Hoar, Pownall Street, Masterton, has returned to Wellington. Mrs J. Donald, of Bideford, has returned home after a visit to Pahiatua, where she stayed with her mother, Mrs I. M. Graham.

Misses E. Shoosmith and Margaret Davidson, of Wellington, were the guests of Mrs Shoosmith, Essex Street, Masterton, over the weekend.

Miss Leslie Beetham and Miss Mary Maunsell. Masterton, were visitors to Hastings for the Woodford House Old Girls’ re-union and the Garden Fete on Saturday. Mrs Sarah Marion Evans, of “Homewood,” Otane, has died at the age of 90 years. She was born at Portreevee, Isle of Skye, and went to Melbourne before coming to New Zealand, where she and her husband settled at Otane. Mrs Evans was predeceased by her husband, Mr Robert Evans, a daughter, Miss Read Evans, who died while a teacher at Woodford House, and one son. Captain O. G. Evans.
