CHINESE POLICE
STRIKE IN BRITISH CONCESSION ■ IN SHANGHAI. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) TIENTSIN. November 2. Chinese police serving in the British concession struck. It is believed that they are not satisfied with their salary. British and European volunteers were called out to control traffic and patrol the streets in armoured cars. The strike was later settled, the British concession authorities promising to consider the demands immediately and not punish the instigators.
