TURKEY’S POLICY
CLOSE COOPERATION WITH BRITAIN STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT. LOYALTY TO FRIENDSHIPS & OBLIGATIONS. The President of Turkey, Ismet Inonu, in a statement reported by the 8.8. C., said that Turkey and Great Britain were watching the situation closely and that though Turkey would not enter the war now, she would remain loyal to her friendships and obligations. He stated that Turkish relations with Russia, which had gone through a critical period, had now taken a friendly turn. RAID ON NAPLES ADMITTED BY ITALIANS. DAMAGE DONE IN THREE PLACES. LONDON, November 1. The raid on Naples is admitted in this morning's Italian communique, which says that several bombs, including incendiary bombs, were dropped. Damage was done in three places. AIR MINISTRY REPORT (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) RUGBY, November 1. An Air Ministry communique states: “A small force of aircraft of the Bomber Command last night successfully attacked oil tanks and other objectives at Naples. All our aircraft returned safely.”
