INTERHOUSE SPORTS
WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A committee meeting cf the Wairarapa Interhouse Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. last evening. There were present: Messrs G. Daubney, G. Davis, D. Costello, W. P. Pawson, R. Foster, I. McChesney, A. Callister, J. Hayden, and D. 'Bell. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. Bruce and F. Graham. Donations were received from Mr J. H. Cunningham and the Wanganui Woollen Mills. It was decided that the secretary and Mr G. Davis procure further prices for the erection of extra seating accommodation. The teams which won the various cups at last year’s sports are reminded that they are to be returned to the secretary, c/o W.F.C.A. Ltd., sports department. Messrs Hayden, Daubney and Costello. were appointed a sub-committee to confer with Mr G. T. O’Hara Smith, the hon. secretary of the £1,000,000 fund committee and other patriotic affairs. Teams are advised that they must take part in the marching, massed drill and ball games to be eligible to win the A. and P. cup. In fairness to the competitors who are taking part in so many events, it was decided that the girls’ relay race be for teams of six, instead of four as previously arranged. It was reported that Miss N. Thompson, of the Physical Welfare and Recreation Department, will come to Masterton for a special practice of all teams in the massed drill display next Wednesday. This practice will be held in the Municipal Hall at 5.15 p.m. For the benefit of the Carterton public, a special free bus has been arranged for that day. A special train will run from Cross Creek arriving at Masterton at 11 a.m. It will return after the sports, and run as far as Cross’Creek.
