REDUCED BY HALF-PENNY PER GALLON. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Regulations were gazetted yesterday reducing the price of standard grade motor-spirit by id. a gallon. The Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr. Sullivan, said in an interview last evening that it would be recalled that at the time one grade of motor-spirit was introduced it was announced that the increase of id. a gallon then effected would be subject to revision when the supplies of super grade spirit then being marketed had been exhausted. “This position has now arrived,” added the Minister, "and in accordance with the undertaking' then given prices are now being reduced.” An increase in the petrol allowance of 25 per cent., operative from to'day, was announced on October 23 by the Minister of Supply, Mr. Sullivan. Five coupons, numbers 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16, will be available during November and December, and any one of the coupons may be used at any time during the two months.
