Mrs Hornsby and Miss Telford, Raumati Beach, are visiting Carterton. Mr and Mrs N. H. James, Pownall Street, spent the weekend at Paraparaumu Beach.
Mrs E. C. White and family, Manaia, who have been staying at Paraparaumu Beach, have returned to Masterton.
Miss E. Chamberlain, Wellington, spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs Chamberlain, Renall Street, Masterton.
Mr and Mrs E. C. Jenkins and family, Renall Street, Masterton, have returned from a short visit to Paraparaumu Beach.
The resignation of Miss P. M. P. Clark, lady principal of the Christchurch Girls’ High School for the last 124 years, was received yesterday by the Canterbury University College Council. Miss Clark has resigned as she proposes to go to England to take up other work there, and the resignation will take effect from February 28, 1941, or an earlier date if it can be arranged.
