HUNGARY APPROVES ATTACK ON GREECE I SPEECH BY THE KING OF BULGARIA. HOPES OF PRESERVING PEACE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, October 28. A dispatch from Budapest received in Berlin, reads: “As a true friend of the Axis. Hungary completely understands and agrees with Italy’s motive in taking action against Greece.” Military leave in Yugoslavia has been cancelled. This is regarded as purely a precautionary measure. There has been no major redistribution of the Yugoslav Third Army, which is assigned to defend the Yugoslav-Albanian frontier. The Sofia correspondent of the Associated Press says that King Boris, in a speech at the opening of Parliament said that Bulgaria would continue to use all means to preserve peace for Bulgaria and defend her 1 vital interests. He expressed gratitude! to the great leaders of Germany and Italy for their initiative and collaboration in the settlement of the southern Dobruja dispute, which further strengthened the friendly relations between Bulgaria and these two Powers. Political and economic relations with Russia were developing happily. In Ankara the Government newspaper “Ulus” says: “We are passing through a test of fate, demanding clear hearts, strong confidence and complete co-operation to the death. We prefer the hell of war to a dishonourable peace. We recognise no limit of sacrifice.” ' JAPAN’S POSITION COMMENT BY TOKIO PRESS. TOKIO. October 28. The “Yomiuri Shimbun,” in an editorial, declared that while Japan was under an obligation to aid Italy militarily by the recent pact, she should assume a calm attitude and act only after receiving Italy’s request. The “Asahi Shimbun” declared that Greece did not retain a trace of her ancient greatness and her end was a forgone conclusion without assistance from Germany or Japan. It is b'elieved that Japan is taking no immediate action regarding the Italian-Greek war, although cabinet is examining Japan’s obligations under the pact at its meeting today. The local Press is confident of an ' early conquest of Greece before Japan could reach the scene for any positive ' assistance to Italy.
