GIFT FROM AMERICA.—The first of live of the latest type of X-ray machines, given by the Allied Relief Fund of America was recently handed over at an emergency hospital in Britain by Mr Bertram Cruger, the head of the Allied Relief Fund in England. Dr. Cochrane Shanks, the world-famous radiologist, is seen using the new apparatus on a wounded British Tommy.
