APPEAL TO UNITED STATES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, Noon.) WASHINGTON," October 25. Ex-King Carol has appealed to the United States to intercede on behalf of himself and the members of his party detained at Seville. The United States Legation at Lisbon transmitted the request. M. Jean Pangal,. Carol's Chamberlain, described the appeal as a move to place Carol under President Roosevelt's protection in order that he may proceed to Portugal, where he is offered an asylum.
