SOME DAYLIGHT RAIDS BATTLES IN BLUE SKY DAMAGE AND CASUALTIES IN SOME AREAS. WOMEN GIVE CLOTHING FOR BANDAGES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright I (Received This Day. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, October 25. London had five alerts during the day. The first alarm covered a second lengthy period of darkness, after which came two alerts while people were going to work. One raider dive-bombed to 2,000 feet and released bombs. Some houses were damaged and five persons were injured in one house. The blue sky 'over London became a battlefield for whirling planes during the third alert, which lasted for only a few minutes, but bombs fell in several places. Buses were brought to a standstill sharply and passengers hurried to shelters. They emerged soon afterwards to find several buildings shattered. Several 'persons were buried under the wreckage of a block of shops and flats which received the brunt of a stick of three high-explosive bombs. There were calls for doctors to attend those injured in the streets. Buses in some districts were caught in the raid. A conductor in one was injured. A bomb directly hit a row of five trams, killing and maiming several passengers. One tram was completely flattened. Further ’brief raids followed, the Germans using fighter-bombers. The attacks began and ended with great suddenness. Women tore of! their clothing to provide bandages for the injured during one street bombing. A mother and three children were buried when a bomb demolished a house in a Home County. They were heard calling for help and were dug out and taken to hospital. . Bombs were heard again during a fifth alert in the afternoon. GERMAN COMMUNIQUE PARTICIPATION OF ITALIAN BOMBERS. , (Received This Day, Noon.) LONDON, October 25. ; A German communique says: “Italian bomber units, operating from their bases in occupied territory, participated for the first time in air attacks against Britain and scored great successes. , “German bombers attacked London 1 several times in quick succession yesterday and also at night. “Enemy raiders caused fires in the town and harbour of Hamburg. Weak forces penetrated to the capital, causing fires and slight damage. Some persons were killed and injured in each city.”
