ARMY TRAINING AREA
PURCHASED IN CALIFORNIA. AT COST OF TWO MILLION DOLLARS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Dav. 10.35 a.m.) WASHINGTON. October 24. The Secretary for War (Mr H. L. Stimson) announced the purchase of 154.090 acres of land on California, including part of Hearst's San Simeon estate, for an army training ground, at. a cost, of two million dollars. It will bo used as a target manoeuvring ground. The tract includes valleys, streams forests and a large frontage to the Pacific.
