GERMANS REPORT LARGE-SCALE ATTACK

Widely Extended R.A.F. Operations AGAINST ENEMY INDUSTRIAL AND INVASION BASES NAZI SUPPLY SHIPS TORPEDOED On Wednesday night the R.A.F. made another attack oil Berlin. The Germans describe it as on a large scale, the 8.8. C. reports. It was only a small portion of the night’s operations and the raid lasted for two hours. A concentrated attack was also made on objectives at Emden and on oil plants, goods yards, railway junctions and invasion ports were also bombed. Two German supply ships were torpedoed by aircraft of the Coastal Command. Another vessel was heavily machinegunned. From these day and night operations one machine is missing. Two German planes were shot down in small scale raids on Britain yesterday. The attacks were spasmodic, a few single raiders appearing in various parts of the country. A German bomber was destroyed on Wednesday night.
