PEOPLE’S DAY. AWARDS IN ROMNEY MARSH SHEEP. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, October 24. Ideal conditions prevailed today for People’s ’Day at the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s annual spring show, dull but fine weather, with an absence of wind, attracting town and country folk to the picturesque Tomoana showgrounds in numbers which must have been little fewer than in more settled times. Mr. J. M. James, Masterton, said he was disappointed with the number of entries in the Hereford section, but a good standard was set by the cattle exhibited. Mr. R. M. Perry, Masterton, was well pleased with the natural condition Southdowns. The fat lambs, said Mr. M. A. McLeod, Feilding, were soft and fine, but the quality generally was well up to standard. The following awards were made in the Romney Marsh. Natural Condition section:- —Ram, over 30 months: W. Rayner. 1; E*tatc J. Tod 2; Sir William Perry. 3: seven entries. Ram between 18 and 30 months: W. A. Tod, 1; Sir William Perry, 2; W. Rayner, 3: eight entries. Ram under 18 months: L. R. Averill. 1; Estate J. Tod. 2; W. Rayner. 3; 10 entries. Two rams over 18 months: Hutchinson and Absolum. 1: Estate J. Tod. 2: two entries. Three ram hoggets, under 18 months: W. A. Tod. 1: S. M. Palmer and Son, 2; L. R. Averill, 3; six entries. Shorn ram. over three months: A. P. Southey and Sons. 1: W. A. Tod, 2; four entries. Shorn ram. between 18 and 30 months: J. A. Mitchell. 1: A. P. Southey and Sons. 2; W. Rayner. 3, eight entries. Shorn ram hogget under 18 months: W. Rayner. 1: A. P. Southey and Sons. 2; G. 11. McKay, 3: nine entries, Three shorn ram hoggets, under 18 months: W. Rayner. 1: G. 11. McKay. 2; W. A. Tod. 3: four entries. Ewe over 3C months: W. A. Tod. 1 and reserve champion and 2: Estate J. Tod. 3: 13 entries. Ewe between 18 and 30 months: A. P. Southey and Sons. 1 and champion: J. A.
