PEOPLE’S DAY. AWARDS IN ROMNEY MARSH SHEEP. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, October 24. Ideal conditions prevailed today for People’s ’Day at the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s annual spring show, dull but fine weather, with an absence of wind, attracting town and country folk to the picturesque Tomoana showgrounds in numbers which must have been little fewer than in more settled times. Mr. J. M. James, Masterton, said he was disappointed with the number of entries in the Hereford section, but a good standard was set by the cattle exhibited. Mr. R. M. Perry, Masterton, was well pleased with the natural condition Southdowns. The fat lambs, said Mr. M. A. McLeod, Feilding, were soft and fine, but the quality generally was well up to standard.
