Entries were slightly larger at the Addington sale today, and prices showed an easing tendency for most classes. Fat cattle were most affected; heavy steers dropped by 30s. and medium by 20s. Fat woolly sheep sold at a decline and shorn slightly less, and wethers nearly maintained values. There were few store sheep-and an oversupply of heavy pigs. The store sheep entry was slightly smaller than the 2500 of last week and consisted mainly of ewes and lambs. All classes sold well and values were maintained. Best ewe hoggets made 'o 335. 9cL, fair to 18s. 6d.; ewes and 'ambs. good to 19s. 6d„ medium 16s. 9d., ■ough 12s. 4d. Spring lambs numbered 200, and in a keen sale the best sold at lid. a pound. The best price was 38s. 7d. Of 6000 fat sheep half were shorn. Heavy woolly ewes were down by 2s. 3d. shorn-ewes by Is. 6d.. and wethers by Is. Values for shorn prime wethers ranged to 425. Id., heavy 375. to 40s. medium from 345.; best shorn ewes to 345. Id., medium 245.. light down to 18s. 7c1.: best woolly wethers to 495. The fat cattle entry numbered 480, about 100 more than the recent average. About 100 came from the West Coast. Prime lines were forward from other fattening districts. The drop for heavy beef was up to 355. a head, but medium weights declined by only about 20s. The market was patchy and draging. Best beef made 465. to 48s. 6d a hundred pounds, medium 385., poor 335. Prime steers sold for £24 12s. 6d., heavy £l6 to £l9. ordinary from £lO 10s.; best heifers, £l2 to £l5 7s. 6d.. medium, £9 10s.. to £11; good cows, £9 10s. to £l4 17s. 6d.; rough, down to £7 10s. The pork entry was smaller and the bacon entry slightly bigger. The average price for pork was 7d. to Bd. a pound and for bacon ejd. to 7d. PAHIATUA SALE The Associated Auctioneers report as follows on the Pahiatua sale. A moderate yarding of sheep, a medium entry of dairy stock, and a fair offering of pigs were submitted to a good attendance of buyers:— Quotations: —Ewe hoggets, 365. 6d., wether hoggets, 255, 265, to 265. 6d. Fat ewes, shorn, 18s. in wool, 235., to 255. Fat wethers, 365. Dairy heifers; £lO 10s„ £lO 55., to £lO. Later calvers, £8 155., to £B. Good store cows, ex dairy, £5 7s to £5. Good conditioned heifers, ex dairy, £6 Bs. Two-year P.A. bulls, £l7 10s, two year Jersey bulls, £lO 15s, £lO 10s, to £8 10s. Pigs. Weaners (good), 335. 6d„ 265. to 245. Medium 20s. MASTERTON SALE STORE SHEEP PRICES MAINTAINED. A good yarding of sheep was forward at the Masterton stock sale yesterday, and was offered to a large attendance. Fat sheep were slightly easier, but stores sold well up to late rates, and a total clearance was effectted. Realisations were: — Sheep: Prime shorn fat ewes, ,18s. to 19s. 6d.; others, 15s. 9d. to 17s. Bd.; shorn fat wethers, 235. to 255. 6d.; forward shorn ewes, to 13s. 9d.; fat S.D. hoggets, to 19s. lOd. medium woolly ewe hoggets, 295. 4d. to 325. 4d.; fat woolly wethers, to 335.; woolly wether hoggets, to 245.; m.a. ewes with b.f. lambs at foot. 18s. 4d. to 255., all counted. Cattle: Fat heifers, to £5 175.; heifers. just calved, £4 10s. to £5 10s. Pigs: Weaners. 20s. to 255.; stores, to 275.
