According to the “Daily Mail,” a Rome radio message estimated that the Berlin air raid casualties during the night of October 20 amounted to 2871, which is considerably over double the nignest number ’ sunered in a nignt raid on London. BOMBING CONTINUED IN SPITE OF BAD WEATIIER. (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON. October 22. It is officially stated that although adverse weather considerably hampered operations. R.A.F. bombers attacked objectives in Germany last night. RAIDS ON BRITAIN CASUALTIES AND DAMAGE. (Received This Day," 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, October 22.. The Air Ministry states that a number of persons were killed or injured, and houses and industrial buildings damaged or set on fire in last night’s air raids. ON A SMALL SCALE ATTACKS ON BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.43 a.m.) RUGBY, October 22. A communique states: “Enemy attacks on Britain today have been on a very small scale. A few sporadic raids were made in the morning by single planes on several towns on the southeast coast and some damage was done. Houses were demolished in two towns and a few people were killed or injured. “An enemy force in the afternoon crossed the coast near Dungeness, but were promptly intercepted by strong forces of our fighters, and were unable to penetrate to London. The indications are that very little damage was done by this attack, though a few bombs' were dropped on a south-east town.” CASUALTIES IN ITALY NINE KILLED AND 14 INJURED. ACCORDING TO RADIO MESSAGE. (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) ROME, October 22. A radio message stated that nine persons were killed and 14 injured in Italy as a result of the R.A.F. raids on October 20-21. EFFECTIVE BOMBING SHIPS AND OTHER TARGETS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 10 a.m.) RUGBY, October 22. An Air Ministry communique states: “Our bombers yesterday carried out daylight attacks on the ports of Boulogne and Gravelines. At Boulogne a merchant ship was hit and damage was done to wharves and warehouses. “Other aircraft attacked an enemy convoy off the French coast. One ship was hit and disabled. “Last night, adverse weather reduced 'die scale of our bomber offensive, nevertheless a heavy attack was made on naval dockyards al Hamburg, where many fires and explosions resulted. “Other targets included a synthetic oil plant at Reisholz, the Dusseldorf goods yards, various industrial objectives and an aerodrome at Stade. “One of our aircraft is missing.”
