II"I — I ■ DAMAGE DONE BY BRITISH RAIDS. OPERATIONS IN AFRICA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, Noon.) LONDON, October 21. An Italian communique says British planes, coming from Switzerland, raided Northern Italy, They hit a house and institution in Verona, where three persons were killed and twelve wounded. Two houses were demolished in the Province. of Pavia. Four persons were killed. Three houses were damaged in the Province of Allessandria. One person was killed and a church and houses were damaged and a fire was started in a wood at Borgio, in the Venezzi district. The communique adds that a patrol on the Eritrean border forced a British armoured unit to retire. It claims thai during the Island of Perim raids or. October 17, two British warships were sunk. The R.A.F. bombed Decamere. damaging barracks and killing one person and injuring eleven.
