GREYHOUND RACING
_ SUMMER SEASON’S SPORT. j oTARTING ON LABOUR DAY. At a meeting of the executive of th'» Wairarapa Coursing Club this week it was decided to begin the summer season’s racing at Akura on Labour Day. The Dannevirke Club had been alloted this date but owing to the military camp on the showgrounds, the club was unable to hold a meeting. The programme will consist of a full list of races, five flat and two hurdle events. A conference of all the North Island clubs is to be held at Dannevirke during the weekend. It was decided to send two delegates from Wairarapa. Messrs W. Buick and S. Geary. The conference is being called to discuss important affairs in connection with the sport with the possibility of a North Island controlling body being formed.
