MEETING AT GLADSTONE. COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Gladstone Women’s Institute was opened with the singing of the National Anthem. Mrs Joblin - presided over a good attendance. Several apologies for absence were received. Mesdames Bubb and Palmer were appointed delegates to the half yearly Federation meeting in Carterton next month. Mrs S. Munn gave an interesting demonstration on saucer sand posies and flower decorations and was accorded a vote of thanks in connection therewith. Mrs Wyeth and her helpers served afternoon tea. The monthly competitions resulted as follow: Biscuits. Mrs Crewe 1. Miss Crewe 2; flowers, Mrs Henderson 1, Mrs Wyeth 2. Next month’s meeting will take the form of a “garden afternoon.”
