DESTROYER OF EIGHTEEN ENEMY PLANES SIX SHOT DOWN IN ONE DAY. AWARD OF BAR TO D.F.C. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) RUGBY, October 17. Among R.A.F. awards announced today is a bar to the D.F.C. to PilotOfficer A. G. Lewis, who was born in Kimberley, South Africa. The citation states: “On September 27, he destroyed six enemy aircraft. This makes a total of 18 destroyed by him. His courage and keenness are outstanding.
