ENJOYABLE CARD PARTY. FUTURE ACTIVITIES. The Ladies’ Auxiliary of the local Y.M.C.A. held another of their popular card parties last night, there being over 50 players present. Six tables were occupied at bridge while a table extending the length of the room accommodated seven sets'at “500.” This party, the last for the season, was a happy one and at times the enthusiasm ran high in the competitions. At the close of the card playing, Mrs Pithor (president), after presenting the prizes, thanked those present for thenattendance and all who had so heartily supported the efforts of the Auxiliary. On behalf of the Board of Directors the general secretary (Mr C. W. Gaze) conveyed appreciation for the consistent and helpful attendances maintained throughout the parties. The prize winders were: 500, Mesdames Holtham, Findlayson. and Gillin. Bridge, Mesdames J. Williams, E. Jones and Mr Aldred. The home-made supper was prepared and dispensed by the Ladies' Auxiliary. Next week the annual gymnastic display will be held in the association s gymnasium when opportunity will be given parents and friends of the performers to witness the results of the work done during the past year by every member of the girls' and boys classes. In the following week the annual Mother and Daughter Tea will be held when the gathering will be addressed by Mrs Hessell Traughton. a lady missionary on furlough from the Japan Pioneer Mission. On the next evening a lecture, illustrated with a particularly good set of slides, will be given by Mr Hessel. Traughton on the work being carried cut by the Mission.
