NONFERROUS METALS
-q, COLLECTION IN MASTERTON. OVER A TON DONATED. Well over a ton of non-ferrous metals has been collected in Masterton as the result of the recent appeal for waste material to be handed to the Government for disposal, and the proceeds to be credited to the patriotic fund. The quantities of metals collected are: Aluminium 7621b5, brass 1036 lbs, copper 5341b5, lead 8031bs, zinc 291bs. This makes a total of 1 ton Bcwt 281bs. This collection is regarded as quite satisfactory, in view of the fact that the town and district has been pretty thoroughly combed by commercial firms dealing in scrap metals. The collection of non-ferrous metals by the borough authorities is to continue, however, and anyone having any for donation to the Government should communicate with the Borough Sanitary Inspector, Mr T. A. Russell.
