SALE AT ADDINGTON FAT SHEEP PRICES DECLINE. VALUES FOR FAT CATTLE EASIER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH,, October 16. A general increase in entries was apparent at the Addington market today. Fat sheep were m over-supply, resulting in a sharp decline in prices. Store sheep sold briskly and fat cattle eased in value because of the big supply. The store sheep entry numbered 2500, mostly ewes and lambs and ewe hoggets. Values were slihtly easier. Good half-bred ewe hoggets made 295. 6d.. others 28s. 9d„ medium lines 255.; wether hoggets 235. 4d.; ewes and lambs, 18s. Spring lambs numbered 240. Prime lines sold at lid. a lb., and others Bd. or 9d. Buying for the West Coast made .a strong market. The fat sheep entry of 6000, double that of last week, was mostly ewes, and the market was easier. Prime wethers made 475. to 51s. 7d., good 40s. to 465., others from 345.; best ewes, 38s. to 445. 4d.. medium 275. 6d. to 375. There was a good showing of medium weights in the 422 fat cattle forward. Heavy steers were of plain quality. Heavy steers dropped by 20s. and other classes by 10s. Good beef made 51s. to 545. a hundred pounds, and medium 455. Best steers sold for £l7 to £23, medium from £l3; extra prime heifers £l7 2s. 6d.. good £l3 to £l5, light, from £10; good cows £lO to £l6.

Pork sold at 61d. to Bd. a lb., and bacon at 6!d. to 7d.

MASTERTON SALE PAR RATES FOR FAT SHEEP. The Associated Auctioneers report as follows: —A good yarding of sheep came forward at the Masterton Sale yesterday and was offered to a fair attendance. Fat sheep sold on a par with late rates. An exceptionally good line of shorn fat and forward four-tooth wethers offered on account of Mamaku Station created considerable attention and after spirited competition the sheep were knocked down at 245. The following are some of the realisations: Sheep:—Fat woolly ewes, 265. 9d., 28s Id. to 28s. 3d.: fat shorn ewes, 19s. 6d., 20s. Bd., to 225.; medium fat shorn ewes. 165., 18s. 2d., to IBs. lid.; fat b.f. hoggets, 245. 2d., to 265.; fat and forward shorn, four-tooth, wethers, to 245.; medium shorn, four-tooth wethers, I9s. 6d. to 21s. 3d.; woolly ewe hoggets, 275. to 28s. 2d.; woolly wether

hoggets. 21s. to 245.; shorn four and sixtooth ewes, to 215.; forward shorn ewes, to 155.; ewes with lambs at foot, to 14s. 6d. (all counted). Cattle: —Cows in milk, to £7 10s.; fat cows, ex-dairy, to £5 17s. Horses: —Draught horses, all work, £25 to £3O. SHORTHORN SALE TUPURUPURU DISPOSAL. At the ninth annual Tupurupuru sale, 21 bulls and 9 2-year heifers were offered for sale. The offering attracted a big attendance from all parts of the North Island. Outside buyers were very keen and had a stimulating effect on the sale. The cattle were in exceptionally good condition, and right through the standard was higher than last year.
