WAGE INCREASE
AND HOSPITAL BOARDS. ASSOCIATION’S VIEW. Advice was received at the meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board today from the New Zealand Hospitals’ Association concerning the 5 per cent wage increase. It was stated that the opinion of all boards had been sought and the recommendation was made that all employees under awards should be granted the increase, up to a salary of £350, after which sum the increase would not be made.
The secretary was asked to bring down a scale of wage costs for the next meeting.
