AIR RAID CASUALTIES
IN ENGLISH MIDLAND COUNTIES FEWER DEATHS THAN IN ROAD ACCIDENTS. WASTED INCENDIARY BOMBS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, October 15. The total air raid casualties in Midland counties to September 30, were 170 killed, 180 seriously injured, and 380 slightly injured. The total of 55 raids included some of Britain’s most densely-populated areas. A thousand incendiary bombs in a week damaged only a haystack. Three months’ fatalities from road accidents in the same region totalled 183.
