BURMA ROAD

PREPARATIONS FOR HEAVY TRAFFIC ACCUMULATION OF SUPPLIES. AT FRONTIER. CHINESE TROOPS GATHERING. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) RANGOON, October 14. War materials, including American petrol, are being concentrated on the Burma frontier in preparation for the reopening of the Burma Road. At least 300.000 gallons of petrol and 5000 trucks are on the frontier, and 150,000 gallons and 1000 trucks are in Rangoon. Chinese troops are gathering on the fronter to escort the trucks. The authorities hope to increase the freight capacity of the road from 300 to 500 tons a day.
