BOAT OVERTURNS

STRUCK BY HEAVY SQUALL. A YOUTH DROWNED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.! AUCKLAND. October 14. Despite the efforts of companions to save him, a youth was drowned when his boat was struck by a heavy squall and overturned in the Manukau harbour yesterday. The victim was Vernon Walford Hinsley, a sheet metal worker, aged 20. of Onehunga. Four other youths in the boat were rescued by two small craft after long periods in the boisterous sea. Hinsley was unable to swim well, but was supported by two companions. When they were rescued resuscitation was applied on Hinslev, but without success.
