CATTLE FAIR

PRICES AT MASTERTON GROWN BULLOCKS IN DEMAND. FATS REALISE LATE RATES. The Associated Auctioneers report: — We held our second spring cattle fair yesterday, when a yarding well up to advertised numbers was submitted to a big attendance. There was a large number of buyers from outside districts present. The cattle came forward in fair condition. Grown bullocks, in good coridition, were very keenly sought, after, and made most satisfactory prices. The 2-yea'r and 3-year steers did not meet with such free bidding, and the yearlings also met with a slower sale. In the female sections, forward cows made good prices, and the younger cattle sold quite well. Fats sold at late rates. Taking the sale right through, prices were well up to expectations. and we consider, compared favourably with the first fair. Local buyers were strong bidders on forward grown cattle, but a big share of the young cattle went' to outside buyers. Prices were as follow: —
