NAZI MILITARY PENETRATION OF RUMANIA
Reports Vague and Unreliable in Detail TEN ENEMY DIVISIONS SAID TO BE ON THEIR WAY KEEN AND ALERT INTEREST IN TURKEY News from Bucharest is slow in arriving’ and is unreliable, a 8.8. C. broadcast states. There is every indication that the Germans are pushing’ on at high speed to tighten their grip before the people of Rumania have time to realise the size of the force sent into their country. It is stated that soon there will be ten German divisions in Rumania. It is also asserted that a German naval mission is arriving in Bucharest today. Italian officers have already arrived to set up a seaplane base on the Black Sea coast. It is stated that columns of German troops passed through the outskirts of Budapest during the weekend on their way to the frontier. Turkish papers are fully awake to the implications of the ' German advance into Rumania. Turkey, it is stated, has a \ strong army to resist any attack and Soviet Russia cannot fail to be interested in a move against the Dardanelles.
