WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
RONGOKOKAKO MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Rongokokako Women’s Institute was held recently, Mrs J. P. Sigvertsen presiding over a fair attendance of members. The meeting opened with the Ode to Friendship and the prayer for peace was read. Mrs J. Mills was welcomed as a new member. During the afternoon 30s 1 was raised for the Makogai Leper Fund. The competitions for - the month resulted a:; follows: —Girls’ nightdress (for refugee), Miss D. Nagel, 1; Mrs J. Payne, 2. Best bloom: Miss E. Sigvertsen (tulip), 1; Mrs J. Payne (viola), 2. A skill test was won by Miss A. Schultz.
A most enjoyable item was given by Miss A. Schultz. Mesdames J. Mills and R. Farrow were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for judging the competitions. Afternoon tea was then served by the hostesses, Mrs Littler and Miss E. Sigvertsen, after which the sing; ng of the National Anthem brought a pleas- 1 ant gathering to a close. j
