MAHUNGA CLUB INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP. FINAL WON BY N. BACH. During the weekend the final uf the Mahunga Golf Club's intermediate championship was played between N. Bach and V. E. Burridge over 36 holes, the former winning by one up at the 37th. With a net score of 269 for foul rounds C. A. Carrig won the net aggregate competition. The best cards returned for the stableford bogey competition played on Saturday were: P. R. Boyes 37 points Rex Riley 35 points, G. Caldwell 3' points. J. Brand 32 points. LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY MISS C. F. POLSON. A medal round was played by the lady members of the club on Saturday, the following being the best scores:— Miss W. Reed, 69 net; Miss E. Kitchener. 73 net: Miss O. Long. 75 net. The final of the ladies’ championship was played at the weekend and resulted in a win for Miss C. F. Polson, who defeated Miss E. Calwell 5 and 3. RIVERSIDE BOGEY ROUND RESULTS. ' The extra work that has been pul into the Riverside links in the last lev, weeks is having its efi'ect on both the fairways and the greens; and opinions expressed are that the links are in better condition now than they have evei been. The best cards handed in for Saturday’s bogey round are as follow and show that keen competition was evident: —F. Pool and A. Bell, 1 up; W. Palamontain, all square; L. Roff. 1 down: M. Thornton, N. Hoar, H. Wehipeihana, and J. Connell, 2 down. Ladies: Miss James. Miss K. Dixon, 1 down; Mrs Connell, Miss Shearer, 2 down; Mrs' Jones, 3 down. In the ladies’ junior championship Mrs Naan had a comfortable win from Mrs Pool. WHAREMOUKU CONCLUSION OF SEASON. The Wharemouku Golf Club ended a successful season on Saturday when members and friends were entertained. A Canadian foursome, drive and approach competition, and a putting competition were held. In the unavoidable absence of the president (Mr J. C. Broad) the vice-president, Mr H. E. Pither, thanked the club captains, Mr V. McKeague and Mrs Towns, and the hpn. secretary, Mrs Keith, for their services in the welfare of the club, Mrs Broad for many kindnesses shown, and Mr Hubbard for his interest and assistance in preparing the links for play each year. The following trophies were presented: —Ladies’ championship (Saunders’ Cup), Miss Carrick: runner-up, Miss Robinson. Men’s championship (Mills Cup), Mr Pither; runner-up, Mr H. McGovern. President’s trophies, Miss Carrick, Mr E. Handyside; captain's trophies, Mrs Burridge, Mr Playstead; eclectic competitions, Miss Robinson, Mrs Dickel and Mr R. Wells; Canadian foursome, Mrs Playstead and Mr Stewart; drive and approach competition, Mr and ivirs MacDonald; putting competition, Mr and Mrs Whyte. The club presented Mr V. McKeague with a fountain pen in appreciation of his keen interest in the welfare of the club and for carrying out his duties as captain so successfully. MASTERTON MEDAL ROUND RESULTS. A medal round played by members of the Masterton Golf Club on Saturday resulted: — A grade: F. S. Smaill, 70; F. J. Miller, 73; L. Kibblewhite, 74; G. Brown, 74; N. M. Irwin. 75. B grade: H. H. Daniell, 70; W. H. Kummer, 70; H. B. Berney, 73; E. LNitz, 74; W. A. Wardell, 74.
