OBITUARY
, MRS M. F. CALLENDER. The death occurred at Croydon Hospital, Carterton, on Saturday afternoon of a highly respected resident in the person of Mrs Mabel Fanny Callender, relict of Mr James Callender of Invercargill, at the age of 78 years. Some three weeks ago deceased had a heart attack and entered Croydon Hospital for treatment Born at Calcutta in 1852, she came to New Zealand when a child of three years of age. Her father was a Colonel in the Indian Army at Calcutta. Her brother, General Fulton, commanded the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, being killed in France in the Great War. She leaves a family of three sons, Messrs C. C. Callender, manager of the Bank of New Zealand. Carterton, L. W. Callender, Wellington, and P. M. Callender, Riverton. The funeral is to take place at Invercargill Messrs C. C. and L. W. Callender left today for Invercargill. The smypathy of a large circle of friends is extended to the relatives in their bereavement.
