APPEARANCE IN DAMASCUS. SALE BY MONEYCHANGERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.20 p.m.) CAIRO, October 13. A strange feature of Syria's economic life is the sudden appearance of British sovereigns, of which the street moneychangers are displaying bowls full in Damascus and elsewhere, selling them for the equivalent of about 45s each. This is believed to be part of the gold distributed by Lawrence of Arabia, now brought to light by the crisis. ‘
