SOCIAL EVENING
0 GATHERING AT FIRE STATION. SUPERINTENDENT AND WIFE ENTERTAINED. ■ A pleasant social gathering was held at the Masterton Fire Brigade Station on Saturday night when the brigadesmen entertained the Superintendent, Mr T. B. Clark, and Mrs Clark in honour of the 25th anniversary of their marriage. There was an attendance of about forty, including members of the brigade, their wives and friends. The function, which took the guests of the evening completely by surprise, was arranged by Fireman H. Braggins, who presented Mr and Mrs Clark with a box of silver table ware from the brigadesmen. A miniature wedding cake also graced the table. The toast of the “Bride and Bridegroom” was proposed by Secretary J. Clarke, with musical honours and showers of confetti, the superintendent replying. Supper was served and dancing was enjoyed until midnight. Mr J. West played the music for the dancing and the M.C. was Fireman R. Clark. The gathering was a most enjojyable one in every way.
