SLY FOX WINS MITCHELSON CUP THE RAKER SUCCESSFUL AT DUNEDIN PAY ROLL DEAD HEATS AT ELLERSLIE (BY “THE GRAFTER”) At the Otaki Maori, Racing Club’s spring meeting on Saturday, The Buzzer, an Auckland Cup winner, scored an impressive victory in the Ling Memorial Stakes. Caution returned over a third of a century in the Katihiku Handicap. At Ellerslie the Mitchelson Cup went to Sly Fox, with Beau Repair? and The Cardinal in the minor placings, while the Masterton representative, Pay Roll, and Nuna halved the honours in the Welcome Stakes. The Raker won the Churchill Handicap at Dunedin, and Silver Lady accounted for the McLean Stakes.
