NEW SEASON’S WOOL
SHIPMENT TO ENGLAND EARLY DISPATCH REQUESTED. STATEMENT BY MINISTER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. “The Wool Controller in the United Kingdom has asked the New Zealand Government to expedite shipment of the new season’s Wool clip,” said the Minister of Marketing, Mr Nash, in an interview yesterday. He added that in order that the Marketing Department ( may finalise shipment accordingly, he had arranged with the Brokers’ Association and the Wool Buyers’ Association to hold additional appraisals at the following points:— Auckland, October 21. Tokomaru Bay, October 24. Tolaga Bay, October 24. Gisborne, October 24. Napier, October 22. Wellington, October 24. Christchurch, October 25. “This is the result of a direct request from the United Kingdom,” continued the Minister, “and I would appeal to producers who have already shorn their sheep to send their wool into store immediately, and ask all farmers who are in a position to do so, to expedite their shearing so that as much wool as possible is available for appraisal at the places and pn the dates stated above.”
