WASHING UP

PROVISION FOR MORE ROOM. You can give yourself more room for washing up if you fix a draw-out flap under your draining board. You will need a length of smooth wood about Jin. thick and a pastry board that'fits comfortably between the bearers under the draining board. Screw two strips of wood on the underside of the draining board, inside the bearers. Now screw a wedge-shaped piece of wood to the underside of the front of draining board midway between the bearers and one placed the reverse way on top of the flap to form a stop when the flap is drawn out. Place your flap between the bearers and screw two lengths of wood to the underside of the bearers so that they project about 1 in. under the flap. Screw a knob to the front of the underside of the flap so that you can grip it comfortably.
