FLOWER BORDERS
SHOULD HAVE ATTRACTIVE EDGING. No matter how carefully a hardy border has been planted, or how fine the plants in it may be. much of the beauty will be lost if it lacks an attractive edging. One of the most valuable of edging subjects is the popular mauve catmint. This may K be put in at the present time. Old clumps should be divided into small portions and the divisions replanted at nine inches apart. Other edging plants which may be planted now are heuchcra, mossy saxifrage. thrift, melianthemums and pinks. The most popular of all the pinks is the fragrant white Mrs Sinicins. The pink Mrs Sinkins is however, quite delightful when associated with its white counterpart. To obtain the best results from pinks, set the plants in deeply dug soil that is moderately rich and contains lime.
