OBITUARY
MR G. E. REYNOLDS. The death occurred at Masterton yesterday afternoon of Mr George Edwards Reynolds, of “Mayfield,” East Taratahi, a pioneer settler of the district. He was 75 years of age, and bore with patience, fortitude and cheerfulness an illness extending over a period of three years. He was born at East Taratahi, and was the eldest son of the late Mr John Reynolds and Mrs Reynolds, Renall Street, Masterton, having residing in the East Taratahi district all his life at the homestead of the property originally taken up by his parents. He was one of the first pupils to attend the East Taratahi School when it opened some G 5 years ago. The late Mr Reynolds leaves a wife and one son, Mr Gordon George Reynolds, a mother, Mrs J. Reynolds (Masterton), who is now in her 103rd year, five brothers, Messrs Charles Taratahi, Frank, Lansdowne, Walter, Papakura, Leslie, Whangarei, and William, Greymouth, and one sister, Miss Reynolds, Renall Street, Masterton, to mourn their loss. The sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended to the relatives in their bereavement.
The funeral will take place at the Clarville Cemetery tomorrow afternoon, and the internment will be a private one.
