EMPIRE PUBLICITY

CAMPAIGN THROUGHOUT BRITAIN MR DUFF COOPER DEFINES OBJECTS. POWERFUL FAMILY OF NATIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, October 4. The Minister of Information (Mr Duff Cooper) stated that an Empire publicity campaign thoughout Britain was being augurated on October 7, the first purpose of which is to drive home the fact that Britain does not stand alone, but is a partner in a world-wide and immensely powerful family of nations, with vast reserves of manpower, industrial equipment, raw materials, and foodstuffs, all of which are now mobilised at the point at which they will be the most vital factor towards victory. The second purpose is to remind the public that the Empire offers the world new hope for the future. It is not the Nazis who have the goods to deliver, but the British Commonwealth of Nations.

Mr Duff Cooper, emphasising India’s part, said it was Britain’s hope that India would soon take her place in this free and equal partnership.
