ANGLO-GERMAN WAR
> VIEWS OF JAPANESE WRITER. QUESTIONS OF AIR AND SEA POWER. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9 a.m.) TOKIO, October 4. Mr Massanori Ito Shighzy, a reputed naval expert, writing in the magazine “Nippon Hyoron,” said the outcome of the Anglo-German war was difficult to predict, which is significant on account of virtually all Japanese commentators having been predicting a German victory. He said while it had been demonstrated that aerial'superiority and complete domination of the British in the air “is not so easy to accomplish,” also it would be a mistake to assume that air domination would enable transportation of large military units across the Channel, because air mastery was only temporary and : the Germany Navy was too inferior to attempt a troop invasion of Britain. Thus the Germans were likely to adopt long-term tactics of blockade and a constant offensive aimed at the morale of Britain.
