PATRIOTIC CONCERT
HIGH STANDARD OF ENTERTAINMENT.
LARGE ATTENDANCE AT OPERA HOUSE.
There was a large and appreciative audience at the concert given by the pupils of Miss Nola Woods and assisting artists in aid of the Provincial Patriotic Fund and held in the Opera House last night. The programme was of a high standard throughout. Outstanding items were the performance of the children’s percussion band trained by Miss Stubbings and the ballets, all of which showed the results of skilled training. Miss Doreen Jamieson was in good voice and entertained with several songs. Mr D. Irwin (Carterton) was also a popular soloist. The veteran artist, Mr Harry Hall, showed that he has not lost any of his ability as a comic song singer.
