One of the Heaviest and Most Extensive Raids of the War NAVAL AND OTHER HARBOURS AND RAILWAYS BOMBED MANY FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS CAUSED One of the heaviest and most extensive raids of the war was carried out by the R.A.F. on Wednesday night when German oil storage tanks, docks and aerodromes were bombed, a 8.8. C. broadcast reports. The fiercest attack was made at Hanover, where a fire was started which could be seen 50 miles out at sea. The Wilhelmshaven naval dockyard was among the _ targets attacked and hits were obtained on the newly-completed basin at the north end of the dockyard. A fire broke out which _ could be seen 45 miles away. On the Baltic coast, the harbour works at Stettin were bombed and fires and explosions occurred. Railway centres were attacked and a vivid explosion occurred at Krupps’ works. Thirteen enemy aerodromes were raided.
