HUNT FOR ESCAPED CRIMINALS SOME THEFTS IN PARNELL. INJURED WARDER SERIOUSLY ILL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 2. No one has reported having seen any of the four criminals who escaped from Auckland Prison on Tuesday night after gravely injuring one warder and injuring two others, but the circumstances surrounding the attempted theft of a x motor-car from the grounds of a house in Parnell and the theft of a tomahawk, a raincoat and a cardigan from another house in the same street suggest that the four fugitives have tried to find some form of transport and civilian clothes to wear. Police motor and foot patrols and search parties combed all parts of the city today. Every available detective and constable is being pressed into service. Principal roads and bridges are being watched, and all motor-cars are being stopped for examination.
