BUILDING SOCIETY

WORKMEN’S FRIEND No. 2. MEETING OF DIRECTORS. The monthly meeting of direcors was held last night, Mr William Kemp, chairman, presiding. Also present were Messrs T. B. Braggins, A. V. Dixon, E. J. Brown, A. E. Hubbard, S. M. Gilding and H. L. Price. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs E. H. Morton and C. W. Walker. A proposal by a member for a payment off an appropriation was approved. The secretary reported that he had received the requisite permit under the Emergency Finance Regulations, 1940. A ballot was held for the appropriation of £4OO, the successful number drawn representing shares held by Mr R. N. Wilton. It was decided to appropriate a further £4OO by sale, or ballot, on November 6. It was arranged that, in future, directors’ meetings be held at 8 p.m.
