MASTERTON SALE FAT SHEEP PRICES. The Associated Auctioneers report as follows: —A small yarding of fat sheep came forward at our Masterton Sale yesterday and sold on a par with late rates. —The following are some of the realisations. Fat woolly ewes, 27s to 295; fat shorn ewes, 20s to 225; fat maiden four and six-tooth ewes (shorn), to 24s lOd; light fat woolly ewes. 23s to 25s lOd. Pigs:—Weaners (good), 28s to 30s 6d; ditto (medium), 23s 6d to 24s 6d. PAHIATUA SALE DAIRY STOCK IN DEMAND. The Associated Auctioneers report on the Pahiatua sale as follows: —A good yarding of dairy stock met with keen demand, and a small yarding of sheep and a large entry of pigs were offered to a large attendance of buyers. Quotations:— Dairy stock, springing cows close to profit; £l4 10s, £l4 5s to £l2; backward sorts, £lO 10s, £9 15s to £9. Late calvers, £B, £7 15s to £7. Empty sound cows, £6 12s 6d, to £4 10s. Springing Jersey heifers (close to profit), £lO 15s, £lO ss, £lO to £9 10s, later calvers £9, £7 15s to £6 10s. Empty heifers £4 7s 6d, £4. to £3 15s. Pigs, weaners (good), 30s, 295, 27s 6d, 265, 24s to 225. Store pigs, £2 to 355. ADDINGTON SLIGHT INCREASE IN VALUES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 2. Entries generally were smaller at today’s Addington market and values in most sections were from par to slightly dearer. A small penning of spring lambs sold at about Is a lb. Store sheep recovered the easing of last week. Ewe hoggets made to 32s for best, and to 26s for medium. Ewes and lambs, all counted, sold at 17s for the best and to l-4s for medium. Fat sheep: There was a small entry of 3200, and an improvement in prices of 2s a head for best, and also for prime shorn sheep, the sale concluding very firmly. Shorn sheep sold relatively better than sheep in the wool. Best wethers made to 545, good heavy 47s to 50s, prime medium 43s to 465, and light down to 335. Show ewes sold at 53s 7d, prime heavy at 42s to 465, and others down to 255. Fat cattle: There was a small entry of 350 head, including lines from the West Coast and Otago. There was a strong showing of good quality. Good steers scarcely held the rates of the preceding sale, but much of them made from 53s to 56s and tops to 57s per 1001 b. Best steers sold at from £2O to £25 17s 6d, good £l7 to £l9 10s, and light down to £ll. There was an improved demand of 10s a head for prime cows and the best of these sold at from £l4 to £lB 10s for a few special. Only very ordinary cows failed to make double figures.

Fat pigs: The entry was the largest of the season and both porkers and baconers slipped, plain heavy baconers by up to 10s a head. Porkers' prices averaged from 7d to 83d a lb, and baconers from 6Jd to 7Jd.
