VITAL STATISTICS FIGURES FOR QUARTER. ("Times-Age” Special.) The following are the vital statistics for Eketahuna for the quarter ended September 30: —Births. 20; deaths, 3; marriages, 11. “Good to Taste New Zealand Food.” Writing to his mother, Mrs P. Wilkin, Atea, Corporal M. Wilkin, who is with the Second Echelon in England says that the troops had received the parcels that had been prepared by the Women's Institutes. Each parcel was divided between two men. In expressing his appreciation he says: “It was good to taste New Zealand food again. Especially welcome was the New Zealand tobacco.” Corporal Wilkin completed a physical culture course at r military school, and has been appointed physical instructor. Referees’ Strenuous Task. Some idea of the task of refereeing Rugby football games was disclosed at a meeting of the Bush Rugby Referees’ Association on Saturday night. The figures showed that the 10 members of the Association had controlled 82 games during the season, over an area from Woodville to Eketahuna.
