MASTERTON BEAT MAHUNGA INTER-CLUB MATCH. H. L. ESAU HOLES IN ONE. In an inter-club match between the Mahunga and Masterton Golf clubs played on the Mahunga links during the weekend the Masterton Club won by 12 games. The result of the match was as under (Mahunga players mentioned first in every instance): — Fourball: I. McFarlane and G. V. Greer lost to T. H. Horton and E. Henderson, G. Caldwell and A. H. Ward beat H. L. Esau and L. Connolly. W. Hendry and R. B. McPherson all square with N. O'Reilly and J. Donald L. M. Roach and D. A. Hunn lost to G. Brown and R. E. Baker, G. R. Beecroft and J. Norrie lost to F. Candy and G. Ross. W. J. Boyce and C. Ross beat G. T. O’Hara-Smith and J. A. Card, S. Jenkins and G. T. Wagg lost to H. Nitz and G. Joy, R. Buick and C. Sutherland beat G. Rutherford and W. N. Kummer. W. Taylor and F. Traynor beat G. W. Sellar and C van Praagh. Results: Mahunga 4 games, Masterton 4 games, 1 game all square. Singles: I. McFarlane lost to T. H. Hearty congratulations were extended to him by members of both clubs. MAHUNGA CLUB RESULTS OF SATURDAY’S PLAY. The best bogey round scores returned on Saturday by members of the Mahunga Golf Club were:— J. G. McFarlane all square, R. J. Towns all square, A. H. Ward 1 down, N. Bach 2 down. LADIES’ MEDAL ROUND. A medal round was played by the lady members of the Mahunga Club on Saturday, the following being the best scores: Miss M. Johnson 94-26-68; Miss B. Frost 104-35-69; Mrs Eaton 107-36-71. MASTERTON STABLEFORD COMPETITION. A stableford competition played by members of the Masterton Golf Club on Saturday resulted as follows: — A grade: E. Henderson 37 points; W. H. Saunders 37; F. J. Miller 36; C. B. L. Kyngdon 35; G. R. Falloon 35. B grade: W. O. Thomson 37; J. Shearer 34. ' RIVERSIDE PRESIDENT’S SIDE WINS TEAMS MATCH. The Riverside golf links were in first class order on 'Saturday afternoon for the match between teams representing the President v Captain, and some very good cards were handed in. Despite the keen competition between players, the president’s team were successful by 18 to 11. The following were the best cards: J. Wakelin 73-9-64, A. Bell 77-9-68. K. McCalmont 92-24-68, W. Gilliland 88-20-68, J. Skeet 87-16-71, B. Jones 85-14-71. Ladies: Miss J. Dixon 94-35-59. Mrs Naan 93-29-64, Miss Bradley 85-14-71, Mrs Clarke 92-19-73, Mrs Connell 102-29-73. Players in the semi-finals of the championships are reminded that matches must be played by the coming weekend.
