KILLED BY TRAIN
MAORI’S DEATH. TRAGEDY NEAR jKOPUTAROA. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., September 29. A Maori, George Tongariro, married, aged 45, was killed by a train a mile and a half south of Koputaroa (five miles from Levin) on Saturday night. It is thought that Tongariro, who was on his way home from the races at Foxton, sat down on the rails and fell asleep.
