WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION ST MATTHEW’S v KNOX. ENJOYABLE INTER-CLUB MATCH In the final inter-club badminton match of the season Knox Club beat St Matthew’s in the McGregor Hall by a total of 15 matches to 6. The visitors were entertained at supper by the Knox Club. The match was the first of its kind played in the new hall and proved most enjoyable. The cream tonings of the ceiling and walls made sighting the shuttle a difficult proposition but that was compensated by the good height of the ceiling. Details of the match are as follow, Knox members being mentioned first in each instance: — Combined doubles: Miss D. Allan and K. Brader beat Miss N. Richards and C. J. Carle, 21-8; Miss M. Ross and E. Henderson beat Mrs Ninnes and N. W .Ninnes, 21-18; Miss M. McGregor and F. Graham lost to Miss Yates and H. Volheim, 17-21; Miss P. Andrew and M. Munn beat Miss Russell and N. Cameron, 21-7; Mrs J. C. Forsyth and L. Wood beat Miss F. Roebuck and S. L. Hatch, 25-24; Miss J. Douglas and McDonald beat Miss Munro and R. Doggett, 21-12. Ladies’ doubles: Misses Allan and McGregor lost to Mrs Ninnes and Miss Richards 12-21; Misses Ross and Andrews lost to Misses Yates and Russell, 8-15; Mrs Forsyth and Miss Douglas beat Misses Munro and Roebuck, 15-12. Men’s doubles: Messrs Brader and Henderson beat Carle and Ninnes, 21- Graham and Munn lost to Volheim and Cameron, 14-21; Wood and McDonald beat Hatch and Doggett 22Total: Knox, 8 games; St Matthew’s, 4.
